| Good Morning Vietnam Not quite sure why I decided to title my entry after this show, but I did. I can't believe that it has been over 2 months since I've posted anything on this site. Ok, I guess I can, but that's only because life has dramatically changed for me recently. As you know from my last blog, I am dating the most wonderful man in the world. Obviously, he takes up a lot of my time, which I absolutely love. We have had so much fun getting to know each other more these past few months and growing closer together. It is wild and wonderful at the same time to find the person God designed especially for you. I am so blessed to have John in my life...and be the love of my life! I'll have to share more about him since y'all have gone so long without knowing what he's like. When I get pics downloaded onto my computer, I will post them. I have great ones from my birthday party and other events this Spring. Other than dating, I am gearing up for a busy month in June. The first weekend I am going to our church's youth camp to act as the nurse. That should be a crazy but fun experience. The second weekend, John and I will be taking a road trip to the Ozarks to visit some friends. I can't wait to go canoeing on their lake and just enjoy the scenery. The third weekend I will be heading to Phoenix for a friend's wedding. I am looking forward to spending quality time with my close college girlfriends. The last weekend in June I will be breaking away for 5 days to lay on the beach in Acapulco! Yeah!!! I can't wait to relax, get a tan, and have some delicious pina coladas. I'll take plenty of pictures. Until later... Jess

So here's my secret...John is his name. He's the most wonderful man; so much more than I could have ever asked for. We've been dating a little over 3 weeks now, and we are having such a good time together. It would be virtually impossible to tell you everything about him in this one entry, so I'll try to space it out. For starters, he is a singer and has the most amazing voice. One thing I love most about him is that he serenades me frequently with country music, sometimes acapella, sometimes along with his guitar. I am so lucky! He leads worship at our church, which of course melts my heart even more. God has truly blessed me with a man who shares my love for music and the arts. In addition to singing, he is a sculptor. Oh, he's so wonderful!
Last month, Aunt Linda encouraged me to categorize my requirements for a husband into three sections. Non-negotiable qualities would receive one star, somewhat negotiable but still very desired qualities would receive two stars, and negotiables would receive three stars. She also wanted me to post this list online as I made it. I decided not to do that. She recommended I do this so that I could narrow down the most important qualities, putting less weight on the more negotiable requirements. Ladies, I definitely recommend doing this. It really aids in the process of throwing out crazy expectations that you may have for your future man. Thanks for the suggestion Linda!

| Ok, so I haven't fallen off the face of the earth...but close. I'm typing this entry on my friend's computer. A Mac at that, I hate to admit. What kind of losers buy Mac computers? So needless to say, I can't do all the fancy fonts on here that I can on normal IBMs. Anyway, so much has happened, where do I begin? I finally got off night shift, but I had to switch units to do that. I'm still working at Parkland, but I'm now working in oncology, 8-5, Monday through Friday. It's definitely the good life. We had several patients crash on us today, and everyone ran to me to figure things out. ICU experience has been so helpful in times like today. All the other nurses were freaking out about things I didn't even flinch about. The weekend after I started my new job, I moved into an apartment. It is so beautiful, has big windows, a newly remodeled kitchen, a garden tub, and a fireplace. It is such a wonderful and perfect home for me. It is in a semi-secluded area with trees, many courtyards, parks, brick streets. It is a unique living experience! Every apartment or loft has a different floor plan and different ammenities. What a fabulous community I live in! Ok, so there is one more thing...if you call or email me, I'll tell you. But if you just choose to simply read this blog, you won't be let in on this very special secret. I'm sure you can guess what I'm hinting at. I'll let your minds run wild! Last thing...I'm going to Kansas City next weekend, February 24. Those of you reading this, namely Steph and Lori, I want to see y'all. Will you be there? We have to get in touch. | | |
| Spring
If all of you could meet my dear friend Spring, you would forever be changed, humbled, and amazed. She is an incredible inspiration to me. An inspiration that encourages me to do anything it takes in bringing people into the greater family that exists around the world. I can't wait for the day that I can say anything I want about this precious friend of mine. One day it will happen, one day. I will never give up hope for the country that I love...the country that is China. One day, Spring, you will have a book. A book that puts the rest of us believers to shame, because we will have seen how you daily sacrifice everything you are and have for our Father. You are my inspiration Spring. I miss you. | | |
